Mark James Baldus - Class of 1983
March 29, 1965 - August 01, 2018

Mark Baldus was struck and killed by a vehicle on a Wednesday night in Los Angeles. The deadly accident occurred at around 9:29 p.m. August 1, on the northbound 110 Harbor Freeway near the West Gage Avenue off-ramp.

Mark had just exited his car on the freeway after it stalled. He was near his vehicle. An oncoming white Jeep Cherokee struck him. The driver of the Cherokee stopped and contacted the police. Mark died at the scene.

Mark resided in Santa Clarita CA. He worked at Boilermakers Local 92 performing heavy industrial construction. His wife Nicole said, 'I would like to take a second to honor and thank his Boilermaker Brothers, he loved you so much, you meant the world to him and everything you have done and continue to do for his family. I'm beginning to understand the meaning of Brotherhood... With love and gratefulness, Thank you all. Love, Nikki, Dane and Beau.'

Mark leaves behind his wife Nicole and 15-year-old daughter.

“He was the most unselfish person I have ever known in my life,” said friend and coworker Erik Estrada.

“He went out and raised $15,000 for my wife when she was diagnosed with cancer,” he said. “He would literally give you the shirt off his back, literally, to anyone.”
