The Defending Sky League Co-Champs of 1965 began the pre-league season with a loss to the Inglewood Sentinals. The Olympians came back the next week and defeated the 1965 CIF Champions of the 'AA' Crown, The Palos Verdes Sea Kings. The defenses dominated the game as The Olympians upset The Sea Kings 8 to 7. The Olympians clashed with The Fermin Lausen Padres at Harbor Junior College. Behind the speed of Halfback Jim Booker, Padres snowballed at halftime to a score of 21-0. The Olympians came back during the second half to hold The Padres scoreless as Fermin won 21-0.
The Leuzinger Olympians opened the league season against The Morningside Monarchs. Fourth ranked in CIF, The Monarchs found The Olympian Defense an alert and hard hitting unit, but the speed of Morningside's backfield prevailed and defeated The Olymps 21-7.
With the encouragement of Coach Isaacson, The Leuzinger Olympians exhibited true Olympian Spirit by defeating the tough Torrance Tartars 20-14 and the following week, Culver City bowed to The Olymps 29-0. On November 10, Leuzinger bowed to Beverly Hills 27-7.
With a 2-2 record in league season, The Leuzinger Olympians looks forward to a better season next year.
