John 'Jack' Freeman - Leuzinger Woodshop Teacher

Jack, a 57 year resident of Manhattan Beach, passed peacefully at home at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Fran; children, Laura and Mark; nephews, Michael and Shawn; and niece, Donna Fuhrmann.
Born and raised in upstate New York, Jack graduated from State University of New York, College for Teachers at Buffalo in Industrial Arts. While teaching in Seneca Falls, N Y, he met Fran, soon wed and moved to California. Jack first worked at North American then at Leuzinger High School, teaching Woodshop till retirement.
A talented artist with a love for wood and ceramics, he filled his home with his creations. Jack loved to play trombone in a variety of bands, most well known for playing in a Dixieland band, the Hyperion Outfall Serenaders, for 42 years, playing for many local events around the South Bay.
He also had a keen interest in bridge, astronomy, magic tricks and relaxing in his hot tub.
Jack will be laid to rest in the Sierra's where he loved to camp and backpack with his family. A 'Celebration of Life' is on the horizon.
