Released in August 1979, 'Off The Wall' was Michael's first solo album as an adult artist. He wanted this album to be the best that it could be, and different from the latest Jackson album success 'Destiny'. Together with Quincy Jones, they penned, created, and produced songs that were good for him to sing and that he could move to.
This album made music history. It contained four Top 10 hits by a solo artist. 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough,' 'Rock with You,' 'Off the Wall,' and 'She's out of My Life'.
Despite what we think or know about Michael's personal life now, his music at the time and place avoided the shallow excesses of that eras burned out disco. It was richly detailed, but not an overdone production. It made for great music in our high school days!
